General Orientation to Human Anatomy

 

  1. Know all of the key terms (selected vocabulary, page 52) in Atlas A.
  2. Understand what anatomical position is and why it’s necessary. 
  3. Know the two forearm positions and which applies one applies to anatomical position.
  4. Know the different planes and sections.
  5. Know the directional terms and be able to apply them when given examples.
  6. Know the structures that belong to the appendicular and axial regions.
  7. Know the major body cavities and their subdivisions.  Know which major organs are found in the cavities.
  8. Know the importance of the diaphragm.
  9. Know the names of the organ systems
  10. Know the names of the membranes that line cavities and cover organs.
  11. Know the Abdominal Quadrants and regions.
  12. Know what mesentery is and what structures it connects to each other.
  13. Know where the greater omentum and lesser omentum are located.
