2. Know what the term Anatomy means and know the different methods for acquiring Anatomy knowledge. Know the different sub-disciplines of Anatomy.
3. Know what the term Physiology means and know the different methods for acquiring Physiology knowledge. Know the different sub-disciplines of Physiology.
4. Understand the entire section on the Scientific Method. Understand the importance of the scientific method and know how it is used. Understand the difference between the inductive method and the hypothetico-deductive method.
5. Understand the terms evolution, adaptation and natural selection.
6. Know the levels of human organization.
7. Know the characteristics of life and be able to recognize examples.
8. Know how clinical death is defined.
9. Understand the entire section on homeostasis. Know what homeostasis means and be able to recognize examples. Know the relationship between homeostasis and health. Know the relationship between homeostasis and Feedback.
10. Understand the difference between negative feedback and positive feedback and be able to recognize examples of each.
11. Know the mechanisms for human temperature regulation and blood pressure regulation.
12. Know the structures required for a feedback loop and know role of each.
13. Understand the cell theory.
14. Understand the meanings of the terms holism and reductionism.
